Liberia new 1,000-dollar note approved for new family of notes in 2023

According to an article on Front Page Africa dated 6 May 2021, the Liberian House of Representatives has approved the inclusion of a 1,000-dollar note in the new family of banknotes to be introduced in 2023 by the Central Bank of Liberia. The measure awaits approval by the Liberian Senate. At present, the largest denomination note in Liberia is 500 dollars, worth approximately US$2.90 at current exchange rates.
