According to an article in the Haiti Standard dated 15 April 2021, Jean Baden Dubois, the governor of the Banque de la République d’Haïti (Bank of the Republic of Haiti), announced the upcoming introduction of two new denominations of banknotes: 2,500 and 5,000 gourdes. At present, the largest denomination note in Haiti is 1,000 gourdes, worth approximately US$11 at current exchange rates.
