According to a press release dated 1 June 2021, on 1 July 2021, the National Bank of Georia will introduce 5- and 20-lari banknotes dated 2021 with identical designs and security features of the preceding issues, and the signature of the active governor of the back. Additionally, the tonality of the background patterns has slightly been modified to reduce the risks of the confusion of these denominations.
