According to a press release dated 27 July 2016, the Central Bank of Liberia will “shortly” introduce a new series of banknotes which retains the portraits of the current series (B306 – B310), while enhancing the security, changing the substrate (most likely coated stock or composite) to reduce porosity and increase longevity, and adding a new 500-dollar denomination. The specimen designs released so far show the notes are dated 2016 and bear the signatures of the Minister of Finance and Development Planning and the bank’s Executive Governor (Boima S. Kamara and Milton A. Weeks, respectively).
