Ghana new 100- and 200-cedi notes (B160a and B161a) confirmed

Due to “sustained periods of high inflation and the perennial depreciation of the currency,” on 29 November 2019 the Bank of Ghana introduced a new 2-cedi coin, as well as new 100- and 200-cedi notes. Existing 1- and 2-cedi notes remain legal tender, though these denominations will be gradually replaced by coins to reduce costs.
