On 2 August 2020, new 200-real notes (B880a) were introduced. Approximately 450 million notes had been printed at a cost of 325 reales per thousand banknotes. On 9 October 2020, the Federal Public Defender’s Office filed a Public Civic Action claiming lack of accessibilty to the sight-impaired because the new 200-real note is the same size (142 x 65 mm) as the 20-real note.
