Taiwan new 200- and 500-dollar stimulus vouchers confirmed

Premier Su Tseng-chang announced long-awaited details of the coronavirus economic stimulus voucher scheme on 28 May 2020.

The vouchers have been renamed “Triple Stimulus Vouchers” to highlight the fact that they will cost just NT$1,000 to buy, and be worth NT$3,000 in purchasing power, with retailers adding their own offers and discounts on top. Available to preorder in June, they were not usable until 15 July 2020.

The vouchers are for everyone with no age or income conditions, including foreign spouses of Taiwanese citizens with residence rights. Unmarried foreign nationals are not eligible.

The vouchers can’t be spent on online retail, and must be used by the end of the year.

The 200-dollar voucher has been confirmed both with and without watermark, whereas the 500-dollar voucher has been confirmed without watermark.
