Trans-Dniester new family of notes (B209a – B214a) confirmed

On December 22, 2007, the Trans-Dniester Republican Bank issued a new series of banknotes (B209a – B214a). The new notes feature the same people and places as the old notes, but the images have been modified to extend to the border. Furthermore, anti-counterfeiting features have been enhanced with the inclusion of a windowed security thread on all denominations. The existing 200- and 500-rublei notes will not be issued as part of this series as they already contain sophisticated security features. Both the new and old series will circulate without restrictions.
