According to an AngoNotícias article dated 3 October 2011, the Banco Nacional de Angola plans to introduce new banknotes before the end of the year. The new series will contain a 5,000-kwanza (US$53) denomination for the first time, and will replace the co-joined portrait of José Eduardo dos Santos and Agostinho Neto with kings of Angola and nature scenes.Courtesy of Thomas Krause.
