Burundi new 1,000-franc note (B237a) confirmed

According to a press release, on 1 September 2015 the Banque de la République du Burundi introduced a new 1,000-franc note (B237a). This note completes the new family which also includes the following denominations: 500, 2,000, 5,000, and 10,000 francs, all dated 15-01-2015 and introduced on 29 April 2015.

Green. Front: French and Kirundi text; fish as registration device; bird perched on branch; coat of arms; cattle; flag. Back: French and Kirundi text; map outline of Burundi; banana trees; fish; bank logo. Pearlescent stripe on front with vertical 1000. Pearlescent overprint on back with flag and 1000 / BRB. Watermark: Prince Louis Rwagasore and electrotype BRB. Printer: (Oberthur Fiduciaire). 125 x 65 mm. Composite (Hybrid).
