Sweden new note family reportedly introduced 01.10.2015

According to a press release dated 1 October 2015, the Svergies Riksbank has introduced new 20-, 50-, 200-, and 1,000-krona banknotes. It is the first step in the major overhaul of Sweden’s banknotes and coins. The existing notes of these denominations will continue to circulate in parallel, but will become invalid after 30 June 2016.

In October 2016, the new 100- and 500-krona banknotes, together with new 1-, 2-, and 5-krona coins will be introduced. After 30 June 2017, the current notes and coins of these denominations will become invalid.
