According to a press release dated 19 October 2016, the Bank of Thailand has announced that the current banknotes (B181 – B185) will continue to be used indefinitely despite the death of Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) on 13 October 2016, whose portrait appears on the front of all denominations.
