On 11 September 2026, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic announced that its 20- and 50-som notes were produced domestically for the first time, though it did not reveal the name of the printer, or if its notes are distinguishable from those previously printed internationally, such as the notes illustrated which were printed by Crane Currency of the United States.
