Saudi note issuer changes name to Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority

According to a press release dated 4 December 2016, “the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency has been changed to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, with effect from the date of this announcement. The acronym SAMA remains unchanged. All existing agreements, obligations and contracts under the previous name of SAMA will continue to remain in force.”

Furthermore, according to an article on Albawba.com dated 8 December 2016, SAMA plans to unveil the designs of a new banknote family on Tuesday 13 December 2016.
