  1. Still printed at our Venezuelan Mint, this issue came completely out of the blue. Notes started circulating around mid December, and replacements (Z) also exist for this issue. Series A, cut point between issues is around ~31 million.

The name of the First Vicepresident is still not confirmed – it’s unclear who is on the role as Perez Gonzalez is a director, not a VP, and while the BCV changed its complete management in April 2025, the relevant official documents mention nothing. Yes, even as a Venezuelan, it’s still a mystery to who that signature belongs (other places mention Pereira Fernandez, which is a representative from the Finance Ministry, not a BCV director!)

    1. And now that the 2025 issue is complete with the 500 bolivar note, the First Vicepresident signature is formally confirmed as Luis Perez Gonzalez… which is now the Deputy President of the Central Bank as of April 15, 2026:

Yes, the BCV authority directory page was hastily updated, as Perez Gonzalez also still “holds” a position as a director! But then, Laura Guerra’s departure was sudden but not really unexpected in our eternal state of turmoil at our crisis land.

Even finding accurate info of who signs our own money is hard as a native and resident of Venezuela!
