According to a press release, on 8 January 2021 the Banco de Cabo Verde introduced a new 200-escudo note like the preceding issues, but printed on cotton paper, not polymer, thereby standardizing all denominations on the same substrate. The new note also adds the dates (1919 – 2019) to the caption of the portrait of Henrique Teixeira de Sousa to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth.
