As of 1 January 2009, Slovakia is adopting the euro. While I am sad to see another country abandon its unique notes, I must remember that it was the impending introduction of the euro that first sparked my interest in the hobby of collecting banknotes. Perhaps Slovakia’s move will create a whole new generation of collectors. In recognition of this historic event, I’m pleased to present the following images of the banknotes of National Bank of Slovakia.
