It is the first step in the major overhaul of Sweden&#8217;s banknotes and coins. The existing notes of these denominations will continue to circulate in parallel, but will become invalid after 30 June 2016. <\/p>\n<p>In October 2016, the new 100- and 500-krona banknotes, together with new 1-, 2-, and 5-krona coins will be introduced.
