These larger denomination notes were introduced to ease economic transactions. The official exchange rates published in this chapter are overvalued by a factor of 20 compared to the black market rate. These notes are thought to be the first denominations of a new family honoring female Cuban heroines. Due to the deterioration of the value of the peso, it\u2019s unclear what lower denominations will be included in the new family.
