According to a press release dated 11 November 2016, the Reserve Bank of Malawi<\/a> introduced a new 2,000-kwacha note (B163) on 19 December 2016. The theme depicted on the new note is \u201cSocial Development (Tertiary Education)\u201d in line with the running themes on the current Malawi Kwacha series and as such, the motif on the back of the banknote will depict the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) located in Thyolo District. The front of the banknote bears the portrait of Reverend John Chilembwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
