{"id":43983,"date":"2024-05-18T04:32:50","date_gmt":"2024-05-18T11:32:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/banknotenews.com\/?p=43983"},"modified":"2024-05-18T04:32:51","modified_gmt":"2024-05-18T11:32:51","slug":"zimbabwe-new-1-zig-note-b198-reported-for-introduction-30-04-2024-duplicate-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/banknotenews.com\/?p=43983","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe new 1-, 2,- and 5-zig notes (B198 &#8211; B200) reportedly shelved in favor of coins"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsc.org.zw\/upload\/Gazette\/S.I.%2060%20of%202024%20Presidential%20Powers%20(Temporary%20Measures)%20(Zimbabwe%20Gold%20Notes%20Normal.pdf\">Pursuant to Satutory Instrument 60 of 2024<\/a>, on 5 April 2024, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbz.co.zw\">Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe<\/a> unveiled a new family of coins and banknotes denominated in Zimbabwe gold (expressed as ZiG on the notes) with denominations from 1 to 200 zig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veritaszim.net\/sites\/veritas_d\/files\/SI%202024-075%20Reserve%20Bank%20of%20Zimbabwe%20%28Issue%20of%20ZiG%20Coins%29%20Notice%2C%202024.pdf\">pursuant to Satutory Instrument 75 of 2024<\/a>, the 1-, 2-, and 5-zig denominations were reportedly introduced on 26 April as coins, not banknotes.
