Pursuant to Satutory Instrument 60 of 2024<\/a>, on 5 April 2024, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe<\/a> unveiled a new family of coins and banknotes denominated in Zimbabwe gold (expressed as ZiG on the notes), which replaces the preceding dollar notes at a rate of 1:2,498.7242. The RBZ asserts that Zimbabwe gold is a \u201cstructured currency\u201d pegged to and fully backed by a composite basket of foreign currencies and precious metals (mainly gold).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
