However, I can&#8217;t find any info on the unknown archeological artifact shown below.<\/p>\n<p>The front of the 5-livre notes (B502) dated 1964-1986 depict the National Museum of Beirut building with columns. However, I can&#8217;t find any info on the kneeling bull sculpture, figure with raised arm standing on coin, nor the meaning or language of the writing in the border.<\/p>\n<p>IDENTIFIED: The bull is a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sidon\" target=\"self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">protome from the Aecheminid Dynasty (5th Century BC) found in Sidon, Lebanon<\/a>.<br \/>\nIDENTIFIED: The writing in the margins look to be <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phoenician_alphabet\" target=\"self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Phoenician<\/a>, though the meaning and source of the inscription is still unclear.<br \/>\nIDENTIFIED: The figure is <a href=\"http:\/\/earthistheaim2.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/28\/part-1-the-people-edenistes-chapter-26-baal\/\" target=\"self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baal with raised arm<\/a> standing on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ancientresource.com\/lots\/greek\/greekcoins-phoenician.html\" target=\"self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">400-330 BC Phoenician 1\/8th shekel silver coin from the City of Byblos, King Adramelek<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone knows what these objects are, please <a title=\"Contact\" href=\"..\/contact\/contact.php\" target=\"self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">contact me with details<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Courtesy of Petar II Blagojevic, Robin Hughes, Don Cleveland, and Abdullah Beydoun.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am cataloging the Bank of Lebanon&#8217;s notes for publication in The Banknote Book, and I have been unable to identify a few items which appear on these notes.
