According to an article on AllAfrica, the National Bank of Angola introduced a new polymer 500-kwanza note (B558a) on 17 September 2020. This joins the new 200-kwanza note (B557a) introduced on 30 July 2020, and will be followed by a new 1,000-kwanza note (B559a) in October and 2,000-kwanza note (B560a)
This 1,000-vatu note (overprinted on B210) commemorates the 40th anniversary of independence. Unlike with preceding issues wherein the first two digits of the serial number represent the last two digits of the year of printing, the 40 on these notes represents the 40th anniversary. According to a press release dated 29 July 2020, the Banco Central do Brasil planned to introduce a new denomination, the 200-real note (B880a), on 2 August 2020. Images of same have not yet been released, but the note will feature the maned wolf on back. Courtesy of Aidan Work.
According to an article in Dominican Today dated 6 September 2020, a new 2,000-peso dominicano note was introduced on 4 September. The note is dated 2019 and contains a new green-to-blue windowed security thread. We are still awaiting confirmation of the notes in denominations of 200, 500, 1,000, and 2,000
